in need of extra support to help make ends meet…we are there for them. Sometimes our neighbors offer special opportunities to host events that bless Savannah and the surrounding area…we are there for them as well. As a body of Christ followers, we take his charge to give to those that are in need seriously and we sacrifice on behalf of others so that they might know God better. We have been charged to create a community hub believers and unbelievers alike, and we have accepted that responsibility by giving back to God what he’s already given us. In this way, everyone involved can be blessed, both the giver and receiver.

We create strategic opportunities to teach classes, greet guests, serve the less fortunate, and walk with those in desperate need of counsel so that we might serve to our total capacity as members of the body of Christ.

the surrounding neighborhoods mean so much to our congregation. We want families to thrive, and we know that a thriving life is a Christ-centered life; therefore, we are wasting no effort in connecting with our neighbors to identify their hopes, wants, desires, and needs, and in turn, we are sparring no expense of effort to meet as many of those needs as possible. We desire our neighbors to see Christ represented in how we speak, walk, live, interact, and ultimately complete this life cycle in ways that bring glory to God and hope to those far from him. We take active roles in partnering with community events by hosting events on our property, allowing usage of our space for community needs, and purposefully seeking out opportunities to bless this community in whatever way our neighbors need so that the love of Jesus will shine far and bright.

What we believe and affirm

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Each Sunday at 10:30am, we gather to worship God with song, praise, prayers, and study of His timeless scripture in anticipation that we will encounter the God of the universe, understand the teachings of His one and only son Jesus more thoroughly, and be able to put those teachings into practice through the Holy Spirit’s sanctifying activity in our everyday lives.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)

We have been blessed beyond measure as we’ve watched the God of creation reach into our congregation and answer our prayers in ways we could never have hoped or imagined! Marriages have been restored, sickness has been healed, cancer has vanished before doctors’ very eyes, lives have been turned upside down and restored, and men have even been brought back to life here! We live dedicated to prayer and welcome you to join us as we petition heaven on each others’ behalf.

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah. (Acts 5:42)

The lives of residents here on Isle of Hope and the surrounding neighborhoods mean so much to our congregation. We want families to thrive, and we know that a thriving life is a Christ-centered life; therefore we are wasting no time in connecting with our neighbors to identify their hopes, wants, desires, and needs, and in turn, we are sparing no expense or effort to meet as many of those needs as possible. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:26-28)

Our members span multiple generations and many socioeconomic backgrounds, and because of this, we strive to be “all things to all men so that we might win some.” Our mandate from scripture is to serve God with all our efforts, serve His people with reckless abandon, and bring glory to Him through those efforts. We create strategic opportunities to teach classes, greet guests, serve the less fortunate, and walk with those in desperate need of counsel so that we might serve to our total capacity as members of the body of Christ.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:3-4)

When our community members require support to overcome difficulties, we are there for them. As a body of Christ followers, we take His charge to give to those in need seriously, and we sacrifice on behalf of others so that they might know God better. Sometimes, our community offers unique opportunities to share our blessings and host events that benefit Isle of Hope and the surrounding area. We have been charged to create a community hub for believers and unbelievers alike, and we have accepted that responsibility by giving back to God what He has already given us. In this way, everyone involved, both the giver and receiver, can be blessed.

FAQs

We recommend using Google Maps and entering “Isle of Hope Baptist Church.” Whether coming from Abercorn St, Truman Parkway, or Montgomery Crossroad, you will eventually turn onto Skidaway Rd to enter Isle of Hope. Skidaway Rd turns slightly left and becomes Parkersburg Rd just past the Isle of Hope Elementary School. When you see our white church sign, turn right onto Rose Avenue. The church will be on your left. We have two dedicated parking lots for you to use. Just before you reach the sanctuary building, an unpaved lot is marked by a large oak tree in the middle. We also have a paved lot just past the sanctuary building.

Come as you are. Dress comfortably. Some of our members wear jackets and ties while others wear jeans and t-shirt.

A typical service lasts about 60 minutes, broken into approximately 20 minutes of music, 35 minutes of sermon, and 5 minutes of announcements. Our sanctuary and sermon have a more traditional feel, but our music selections cover traditional and contemporary options.

We provide care for children ages six (6) weeks through 12th grade during church service.

We offer children’s ministry, Adult Bible School, prayer groups, and various community outreach programs. Please click here for more information.
